Blain Ray was identified on December 1, 2007 at Manta Heaven by Scott Blain. He was approximately 5 feet wide but has grown to 7 feet today wing tip to wing tip.
He is seen as a regular at Manta Heaven and has only been seen at Manta Village a few times. Like most young mantas, Blain Ray was very shy at first but soon learned that the lights mean food. He has mastered “the program” and will skim over divers heads as well as roll belly-to-belly with snorkelers.
DESCRIPTION OF MARKINGS
Blain Ray has a solid spot pattern that has no predominant peaks except for the gap on his left side. This gap gives it the resemblance of the “Shaka” sign.
