Kapono Ray was first identified on May 4, 2001 at Manta Heaven. His wingspan is about 8-10 feet.
Kapono is not a regular manta ray at either of the dive sites. He has only been seen a few times but when he did come he stayed away from the divers’ bubbles and fed in the shadows.
DESCRIPTION OF MARKINGS
Kapono has 3x spots on his left side and a large white oval “puka” (hole) within the solid pattern that makes up his ID.
