Amanda Ray was identified on October 22, 2012 at Manta Village by Amanda Pettit. She was approximately 4 feet wide but has grown to 8 feet since then.
She is seen quite frequently. Even though, Amanda is young, she was running for 1st place manta in our 2013 annual sighting statistics. She feeds almost every night at the Sheraton Keauhou. She is not shy and loves to be where the food is!
DESCRIPTION OF MARKINGS
Amanda’s spot pattern looks like a butterfly with two spots above. She also has a bent right wing tip, which is an injury from fishing line.
