Andrea-a Ray was first identified on September 29, 1997 at Manta Village. We estimate her wingspan between 12-14 feet.

Andrea-a-Ray, called “Andrea” for short, comes to the dive sites occasionally. She is seen more often at Manta Heaven compared to Manta Village.

Andrea is one of the larger mantas and it is awe-inspiring when she comes in for a “close up”. She prefers the divers and/or mid-water area for barrel rolling. We have seen her pregnant in the last few years indicating that sexual maturity is reached somewhere between 10-15 years old.
