W Ray

W is a large female about 14′ across and belongs to the incredible group of manta rays that were identified by Steve Myklebust in 1979, just like Lefty!

The last time she was spotted was in 2012. The most exciting part of that sighting was her pregnancy as this gives us a glimpse into the reproduction of manta rays and how long they carry pups.

DESCRIPTION OF MARKINGS
W is easily recognized by the large W mark between her gills.
