How was Gita Ray Named?

The manta’s name is “Gita Ray” to celebrate and honor Martina’s beautiful mother Gita. Each time her mom visited her in Hawaii, she was fortunate to show her the gentle giants; in 2006 on scuba, in 2016 celebrating Gita’s 80th birthday, or in 2020 when mom was 83 years old and snorkeled again with them. Like Martina’s dad used to say: “You’re never too old. My wife Gita is unstoppable!” ????
