Johnny Ray was first identified on March 12, 2009 at Manta Heaven. We estimated his wingspan then at 4-6 feet.

Johnny has only been to Manta Heaven a handful of times and not been to Manta Village. He is a shy manta ray and stays outside the light circle. He does not come near divers or snorkelers.
